How Koalify Company Merges Work While the Salesforce Integration Is Enabled

Koalify makes company merges possible when the Salesforce integration is enabled: the secondary company is deleted, and the primary is updated with combined data. Key info like property values, activities, and associations are retained.

Native HubSpot Company Merges Are Not Supported

By default, HubSpot does not support company merges when the Salesforce integration is active, not even through the API.

How Koalify’s Company Merge Works

Since this feature is currently in beta, we recommend testing a few merges manually using our duplicate cards feature to ensure the behavior meets your needs before bulk merging via our workflow action.

To help you work around this limitation, Koalify provides a merge-like experience, closely replicating the standard behavior with a few differences:

  • No new company record is created.
The secondary company is deleted, and the primary company is updated with selected data.

  • Property values:

    • If the primary has a value, it stays.

    • If the primary is blank but the secondary has a value, the secondary’s value is used.

    • Some read-only properties, such as analytics or calculated fields, won’t be updated during the merge
    • You can customize the behavior of the property values using our merge rules.
  • Analytics properties (e.g., original traffic source):
The primary company’s analytics data is kept.

  • Activities (calls, emails, tasks, meetings):
All activities from both records are combined under the primary company.

  • Associations (contacts, deals, etc.):
These are merged unless doing so would exceed HubSpot’s association limits.
If that happens, the merge won’t complete, you’ll need to reduce associations first.

  • Workflows:

    • The primary company may be enrolled if updated data matches workflow criteria.
    • The secondary company is automatically unenrolled (as it’s deleted).
